If you are a surfer, don't go to San Pedro unless you trust your skills and/or you have a big quiver. If you are a bodyboarder, grab your balls and charge.
This wave is mostly for bodyboarders but if you are a surfer with many boards you can surf it risking to break your board. It's a strong powerful wave with a strong current, if you are a beginner please don't take the risk.
Atmosphere
The water is very cold in winter times. When the spot breaks there is a very strong current and the climate is cold in winter.
General
It is one of the best waves for bodyboarding in Peru, it's fun but dangerous.

San Pedro Scrutiny - This place serves to test your balls and your tube riding abilities. And, believe me, this place can get truly epic because it can handle a lot of swell.So when the southern coast of lima is receiving big swells(but not as big as to make Pico alto break with all its magnitude)you can be sure you will find huge makeable(if you got what it takes and choose well your waves) barrels and some very similar to puerto escondidos barrels in the 8 to 10 feet range.

BULLSHIT SWELL SIZE - THIS PLACE SURE HOLDS A LOT MORE THAN A 6 FEET SWELL.I KNOW BECAUSE I CHECK AND SURF THIS WAVE CONSTANTLY.I HAVE SEEN 3 METERS PEAKS(WITH CLEAN MAKEABLE BUT GNARLY BARRELS) ON BIG DAYS AT THIS BEACH. 6 FEET IS APPROXIMATELY 1.8 METRES SO THIS SPOT OBVIOUSLY HOLDS MORE THAN A SIX FEET SWELL.
