very nice left handers and right handers which they are really hollow and fast and on a good day its world class.the beach has golden sand with waves that break miles out the good thing about it is if you ride the wave to far in you can just go in and jump of the rocks
Atmosphere
Great spot for shortboarders and longboarders
General
good for experienced surfers

great stuff - hey this is my home break. great fun wave hardly gets crowded . ive seen it get epic with 7+ foot sets breaking 100+ meters out. i walked round the point to see the sets roll in. amazing stuff. barreling for 50+ meters. too bad i wasnt good enough to get out. majorly underrated. why go 2 whanga when 15 mins away is pauanui

Pauaz - I've been surfing at Pauanui for 4 years now and it cranks. Every time I surf there the wave is different to the time before. sometimes its narly shorey or small hollow barells and most of the time pealing perfectly. Pauanui is equally as good as Whanga or even beter on a good day.

- This place is sick. so often no one out and going off. if u have a jetski i suggest you try the bar on a good day as can often produce much bigger waves than the beach. Has any one tried out the reef by the point at the south end??? ive seen it epic. keep this break and try to stay away from the new year partyers.
