mmnn... - Got some nice barrels weds-thurs easter weekend b4 it dropped. Yes can be inconsistant but varies greatly on time of tide, often a small 1-2 hour window produces the goods. Has been cranking over the last month especially the outer reef. The submerged rock out from Tuateawa produces epic waves in a big swell. (3m +)

biggest surf - Back at the very end of summer 2004 I came to this beach not expecting much. Only to be surprised. It was a solid 6-8ft. I paddled out about 200m down from the car park. It had a grinding right hander that was peeling for about 50m. It is by far the biggest surf I have ever had on the east coast.
