Although you have to catch the waves at the right time, if you do you can get some fun surfing. Always surf when there is a sandbar.
Atmosphere
Very few people ever on the beach because it is private. It is a quiet beach, the sand is fine, the water is clear (for NC) and the location is beautiful.
General
Fun spot if you are not a very experienced surfer.

Go away!!!! - OK let me start by saying that this island is not a "regular" surf spot. It is a private island; meaning that you cannot just walk across the bridge. Also you need to spell "wrightsville" right before you can start blowing up a local spot. If you are not a local to this island dont even think about coming over here!!!
